Because we were a family of modest means, many of our summer vacations were spent camping in the Lake Travis, Austin area. I fell in love with the Texas Hill Country on those long car rides as I stared out the window at miles and miles of, what was then, untouched land. Every summer we swam in Lake Travis and Lake Austin, hiked and biked the gorgeous Austin trails and enjoyed an occasional burger or ice cream cone in town. Today, I am proud to call Austin home. I’ve lived here for more than 15 years and, even though it’s changed quite a bit, I still love it!
