About Anthony Tony

Growing up in the 60s and 70s in Los Angeles, California made Tony—a self-described "Cool Kitty from the Big City" who moved out on his own at age 12. By God's grace, he finished high school in 1979 and took a plane to Dallas, Texas and walk-on the football field to play for Abilene Christian University. When that didn't work out, his brother Ric invited him to Big Spring, Texas to attend Howard College, where Tony met the love of his life, Laurie Ann Dodd. In 1980, Tony (18) and Laurie (16) traveled to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to get permission from Laurie's mom to get married. They then spent three years in Chicago, learning to work for what they wanted. Saving $3,000 as private servants, they rode the train to Union Station in Los Angeles California, bought a duplex, off Whittier Blvd in Whittier, California and rented the front half to help cover the mortgage. By 1984, using some creative financing, they bought a tavern called Ugene's and served cold beer, great food, punk rock, disco, and blues bands on the weekends. The party eventually ended in 1991. That's when Tony (30) and Laurie (28) moved back to Big Spring and their daughter, Kodi Ann Aguilar was born—And is Big Spring, Texas 2026 #1 mortgage lender year-to-date (Yahoo, Just saying). Over the years, Tony worked nine years as a nurse’s assistant at the Big Spring State Hospital, earned degrees from Howard College in Big Spring, UTPB, in Odessa, and Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas After school he drove Big Rigs Trucks in the oil fields for ten years. Currently aside from selling houses, Tony operates Jones Valley BBQ on 9th & Gregg Street Fridays & Saturdays in Big Spring. He also publishes Permian Basin Maps an annual summary of local successful Big Spring business owners. After years of flipping houses with his wife Laurie, Tony entered the real estate industry to do something fun and rewarding: helping others achieve the American dream of home buying and investing. Tony has partnered with Ernesto Calderon BROKER/OWNER at Harvest Realty in Midland, Texas and together they serve the entire Permian Basin. They specialize in finding affordable homes for their clients and guiding them through the entire selling process. They are adamant that "Fiduciary Service" is better than the "Golden Rule" and would like to share this Good News with you.
