About Kara

Kara Byrnes is the founder of EverOak Properties, based in Van Alstyne, Texas, and serving the rural Dallas suburbs of Grayson, Cooke, Fannin, and Hunt counties, and Oklahoma. Before real estate, Kara spent 25 years as a civil engineer and project manager for a North Texas municipal water district, and before that she worked as a wildlife biologist for the USDA Forest Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. That background isn't a footnote, it's what sets her apart: she brings real technical fluency to the parts of a deal that trip most agents up, water rights, septic, easements, ag exemptions, and floodplain issues. Kara works with two kinds of clients: the majority relocating to North Texas from Dallas, the suburbs, and out of state, looking for more space and someone who can walk them through a way of living they don't know yet, and a smaller group buying or selling land, ranch, and acreage property who want an agent who actually understands what they're buying.
