About Brent

I’m Brent Houston, a REALTOR® serving Tahlequah, Cherokee County, and the surrounding communities I’ve called home my entire life. I was born and raised in Tahlequah, and just a few miles east of town, the small community of Briggs is home. Northeast Oklahoma isn’t simply the market I work in—it’s my community. Before becoming a REALTOR®, I built nearly four years of experience as a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator, gaining firsthand knowledge of the financing side of the homebuying process, including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA, and HUD-184 loan programs. Today, being dual-licensed gives me a perspective that’s somewhat unique in our local market: I understand both the real estate and mortgage sides of a transaction. That experience allows me to help my clients better understand not only the home they’re buying, but also the process that can make homeownership possible. I especially enjoy working with first-time homebuyers. Buying your first home should be exciting, but I also know how overwhelming the process can feel when everything is unfamiliar. I believe part of my job is to break down the process in a way that’s clear and easy to understand, answer questions honestly, and make sure my clients understand what’s happening and why—without making an already complicated process feel more complicated. More than anything, I believe in doing good business. I want the people I work with to know they’re getting someone who is real, honest, hardworking, and willing to hustle for them. I care deeply about my reputation and how I serve the community that raised me. I won’t pretend to know everything, but I’ll always work to find the answer, communicate honestly, and continue learning so I can better serve the people who trust me with one of the biggest decisions they’ll make. Outside of real estate, I’m a husband, father of three, and proud “Grumps” to a growing crew of grandbabies. I’m a big OU football and OKC Thunder fan, enjoy staying active and taking care of myself physically and mentally, and I’m always looking for opportunities to give back to the community. At the end of the day, I’m still just a kid from Briggs working hard to build a better life for my family while helping other families do the same.
