About John

John Michael Rhem, a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina has been working with clients of Mountain Sotheby’s International Realty since October 2013. With a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design, John has always had an interest in residential architecture and design, marketing, and business development. Born and raised on the coast of North Carolina in Belhaven, he grew up visiting the small island of Ocracoke each summer and still returns frequently to this day. While attending Appalachian State, John immediately fell in love with all the High Country had to offer from the rolling hillsides to the unique, mountain architectural style. He specializes in the high-end, residential real estate markets of Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Boone. In addition to real estate, John donates his time to the Appalachian Alumni Association as a former Student Ambassador and past president and a former member of the Alumni Council. He is also actively involved in his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, by currently serving on the Board of Chapter Advisors as a past chapter president.
