A native of Boone, NC with 15 plus years of real estate experience, Jim brings a client-first approach, practical problem-solving, plus in depth market knowledge. He is drawn to real estate by the challenge of bringing a deal together, then skillfully guiding buyers and sellers through to a successful closing. With experience spanning residential sales, development, raw land, and foreclosures, Jim has a broad perspective on both straightforward and complex real estate opportunities. A past president of the High Country Association of REALTORS®, he has long been an active leader in the profession and a trusted resource for clients and colleagues alike. After more than a decade serving the Boone and High Country communities, Jim is excited to begin a new chapter with Coldwell Banker Advantage in Raleigh, bringing the same diligence, responsiveness, and personal attention that have defined his career to new clients throughout the Triangle. A 1996 graduate of UNC–Chapel Hill, before transitioning to real estate, Jim's first career was in community journalism; he often says he was born 50 years too late to be a print journalist. Today, he applies the same passion for fact-gathering and discovery to help his real estate clients make confident, well-supported decisions. Using his research skills to uncover the facts and details, Jim's experience gives clients the resources to make the best-informed real estate decisions possible. Outside of real estate, Jim enjoys cooking, live music, travel, gardening, and reading. An experienced pen-and-ink artist, Jim is currently pursuing his long-held dream of becoming an accomplished painter. He shares his Five Points home with Puddin’, his six-year-old Malshi, who enjoys exploring her new urban surroundings, neighborhood walks, and frequent car rides. A devoted UNC Tar Heels fan, Jim is always ready to cheer on the Heels—Go Heels!
