About Don

Don Carter is owner and Broker-in-Charge of Don Carter Real Estate, a veteran-owned company that connects people with property around Mooresville, Lake Norman and surrounding area. Don started Don Carter Real Estate in May 2015. He has two Realtors ready and willing to provide professional real estate services to all Don Carter Real Estate clients. Don is a Veteran with 31 years of military service in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Don entered the Air Force in December 1966 after graduating from Western Alamance High School, Elon College, North Carolina in 1965. Don retired in 2005 after his assignment with the Deputy Under Secretary of AF, International Affairs Simultaneous with military service, Don worked for the U.S. Army and retired as a Realty Specialist in 2003. As a Realty Specialist, Don managed industrial real estate for a Major Command (MACOM) consisting of 8 Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs), 71 installations and 154 locations. He managed disposal, utilization, leasing, acquisition, conversion and diversion, mineral leasing and utility privatization at 21 assigned installations. Don started his Real Estate career in 1989 as a Realtor working for Angelmar Real Estate in Springfield, Virginia. He takes pride in giving each client the personal touch they deserve and the real estate results they expect. Specializing in selling, buying, property management, land and commercial transactions, Don Carter Real Estate has something for everyone! Don’s experience includes assisting buyers and sellers with a wide variety of needs and requirements. Don separates himself form other Real Estate Companies by offering services that are not provided by his competition. Don started offering all of Don Carter Real Estate clients Fresh Paint and Property Management Packages. Don has a staff of Realtors including an expert investment property specialist, a buyer’s specialist, a seller’s specialist and an estate sale specialist. Don works tirelessly to provide all his clients the skill, knowledge and attention to detail required in a successful Real Estate transaction. Don is married to Cynthia Carter and they have 2 children, Patrick and Megan, and 3 grandchildren, Carolina, Gabriel and Billie. Don works and lives by the Golden Rule. He proudly donates to Homes For Our Troops, a charity that builds homes for the most severely disabled veterans. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 68 in Statesville, NC Don is a member of Fair View United Methodist Church and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for 9 years. Don’s education includes a Master of Arts in Management from University of Redlands, Redlands, CA and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration from University of NC at Greensboro, Greensboro, NC Don’s goal is to “Make Your Realty Dreams a Reality”!
