About Marsha

A proud and knowledgeable Brooklyn native and longtime resident, Marsha Pels gets great satisfaction from educating her real estate clients on the wonderful properties throughout her hometown borough. Fueling her effectiveness in finding people unique spaces that suit their needs is her keen eye for design and innate understanding of the possibilities that lie within the walls of any property.This valuable talent comes from her aesthetic sensibility as an award-winning, internationally shown and recognized professional sculptor. Marsha also boasts extensive experience in the high-end design areas of furniture, lighting and stone having worked as a sales representative in the metropolitan area for several innovative companies. She holds a BFA in Painting from The Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University. For the past 30 years, she has taught Sculpture, Drawing and Art History at such prominent colleges as The Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Marsha has additionally won numerous grants including a NYC Public Art Fund Grant, a Prix de Rome, a Fulbright Scholarship and a Pollock-Krasner. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Art in America and Sculpture Magazine among others. Pels's many years as a teacher and an artist help qualify her as a therapist and an interior designer in helping her clients see through their questions and fears to achieve their dreams in buying a home. "It is one of the most important, intimate and terrifying decisions people make and they really need to trust an agent." Born in Brooklyn, Marsha lived in Manhattan before 'coming home' in 1981. She has witnessed vibrant changes in the many Brooklyn neighborhoods and readily shares her insights with clients on what makes each niche so special. Marsha just won a landmark case to remain in her large beautiful Greenpoint loft which she has lived in since 1985. She is a rock in the midst of gentrification and looks forward to bringing your vision to life in the home you love.
