About Laura
Laura Powers came to real estate first as an owner, investor and landlord. A lifelong New Yorker raised in Manhattan, she bought her first Hudson property in 2005, a building with a remarkable history as a synagogue dating to 1868. She secured a construction loan and developed the property, later purchasing the building next door. Today, she manages the small compound and its four rental units, giving her more than two decades of firsthand experience on the ownership side of real estate. Laura’s perspective on homes is also deeply visual. She studied photography and painting and later owned Riverbend Mercantile, an upscale lifestyle store on Warren Street featuring furniture, home goods and artisan pieces. She traveled to Indonesia to develop proprietary home products. Her travels and experiences have sharpened her eye for how a space can be presented and experienced. Before real estate, Laura built a career in public relations, including 11 years as PR Director for a publicly traded company. For sellers, Laura brings together firsthand property experience, a sophisticated visual eye and decades of public relations expertise to the positioning and presentation of a home. For buyers, she brings the perspective of someone who has spent more than two decades buying, developing, owning and managing property herself. Laura is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with Houlihan Lawrence’s Hudson office.
