About Sarah
Knowing Chicago means understanding more than where things are. It means understanding how they got there. I was raised in Lincoln Park and remain rooted on Chicago’s Northwest Side. My family’s relationship with the city goes back generations—through infrastructure, small business, public service, local politics and elections. The first political campaign I worked on was Harold Washington’s. My father built a marketing business and later spent decades working alongside Cook County Clerk David Orr, while my mother built Presence—the neighborhood store I grew up in and around—for more than 40 years. My route to real estate wasn’t conventional. Film and art taught me to observe. Second City taught me to listen and adapt. Culinary arts taught me preparation, timing and attention to detail. Politics and elections taught me how our neighborhoods function and how our city runs. Property valuation taught me to separate appearance from evidence. Today, I am a Chicago Realtor with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, working with buyers, sellers and investors throughout the city, with particular knowledge of the North and Northwest Sides and Oak Park. I pay attention to the story of the block, the bones of the house, how the market will read it and the numbers underneath it. I help clients understand not only what a property appears to be, but what it really is, what it’s worth and what it could become.
