Mark Paterno, REALTOR®, CRS, GRI Mark Paterno’s entrepreneurial fingerprints are all over Iowa City, from local eateries to real estate ventures. After moving to Iowa City for college at the University of Iowa, he fell in love with the community and decided to make it his permanent home. Since Mark became a REALTOR® in 2001, he’s built a reputation as a versatile agent with expertise spanning residential, investment, and commercial properties. He also has experience in land development, acreages, and new construction. In 2026, Mark expanded his real estate servicing area and became licensed in the Chicago MLS as well by joining @Properties Christie's International on the famed Michigan Ave. Ask Mark about his resume and he’ll say he’s never had time to make one—he’s been too busy launching businesses. Iowa City locals know Mark as the owner of beloved Ped Mall establishments Marco’s Grilled Cheese and George’s Gyros. Between managing his business endeavors and guiding clients through property transactions, Mark recharges by traveling with friends and family.
