A native of Dublin, Ireland, he obtained a degree in Economics from University College of Dublin, before moving to the U.S. Since then he has lived in many of Chicago's neighborhoods including West Loop, The Loop, Lincoln Square, Lakeview, Roscoe Village. He currently lives in Lincoln Park with his wife and two children. 11 years into his RE career, James has been involved in many facets of real estate including land deals, new construction projects, multi-unit listings and commercial real estate deals. Since 2013 he has been involved in Real Estate deals totaling over 190,000,000 dollars. & founded Sheehan Real Estate in 2022. James is also the former President of the Ireland Network in Chicago. Ireland Network is a business and social network of Irish or those with a strong affinity to Ireland living and working in the Chicago area. The mission being to serve as a bridge for newly arrived Irish and those connected to Ireland to the established Chicago business and Chicago Irish communities. James is also a keen supporter of Concern and Irish community Services both non for profit organizations on a global and local level.
