About Cara

I’m a real estate agent on the April Baker Homes team. But honestly, I’m also a professional people person, problem solver, negotiator, cheerleader, and occasional crisis manager. And after more than three decades on Chicago radio, I’ve gotten pretty good at all of it. I’ve called Oak Park home since 2003, so I know what it’s like to fall in love with a house, make a home, raise a family, become part of a neighborhood—and eventually wonder if it’s time for the next chapter. I’m also a hockey mom, which has taught me a few important things: stay calm when things get chaotic, be ready for the unexpected, communicate clearly, show up, and never underestimate the value of snacks. 🏒 Those same skills come in pretty handy in real estate. Because let’s be honest: buying or selling a home can be stressful. Negotiations, inspections, deadlines, paperwork, surprises, and occasionally a moment when everyone needs to take a deep breath. That’s where I come in. My biggest strength is taking the stress out of the process and replacing it with confidence, clarity, and—yes—fun. I want my clients to feel informed rather than overwhelmed, excited rather than anxious, and confident that someone is paying attention to every detail. My years in radio taught me how to listen—not just hear. How to ask the right questions. How to connect with all kinds of people. How to communicate when things get complicated. And how to keep my cool when the unexpected happens. Real estate lets me put all of that experience to work in a way that is incredibly personal and meaningful. I’m passionate about my clients. I’m passionate about homes. I’m passionate about Oak Park. And I’m probably a little too enthusiastic about getting a great deal. Buying a home should be exciting. Selling one should feel empowering.
