I got my start in real estate back in 2018 inspecting rental homes down in Texas, eventually working my way up to managing a massive portfolio of over 2,200 single-family homes and now running a brokerage of 500 rental homes across Texas and Virginia. I supervise 8 licensed agents. My experience handling portfolios at that scale has taught me how to spot hidden red flags early, negotiate hard, and keep complex deals moving smoothly. After a decade away, I moved back home to Bloomington-Normal in 2025 to be closer to family (and get back to proper Midwest autumns). As a real estate professional and property investor myself, I’ve sat on every side of the closing table. Whether you're buying your first place, selling to trade up, or adding rentals to your portfolio, I know firsthand how high the stakes feel. These experiences are what inspired me to open Tanaka Real Estate LLC and Firefly Property Management. Real estate shouldn't feel like a high-pressure sales pitch.
