HOW DID YOU BECAME A REALTOR®? I have always known that I would find my way into the real estate field. I just love people and houses. Decorating, fixing them up, envisioning what could be done to improve the curb appeal, anything to do with houses. I just took the long way around to get here. First, I was known as the “toy person”, then the “furniture person” and now the “real estate person”. I spent over twenty years as a marketing professional in the toy industry. I worked on many lines like My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Star Wars, and the mega-hit Cabbage Patch Kids. After moving to several cities throughout my toy career, I found that I always had that one piece of furniture that didn’t seem to fit in the new house. Wouldn’t it be great if someone opened up a furniture consignment shop for people like me? So I did. I owned and operated a home furnishings consignment shop for over 10 years. Meeting new people everyday and getting to visit homes was fantastic. And over the years, I met many people who were getting their homes ready for sale. Why not become a REALTOR® and pursue my dream? I can tell you that my first sale was one of the most gratifying and exciting experiences ever! HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME? I volunteer with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. I have been involved as a chairperson, committee member, and trainer for the past 11 years and will continue my commitment to help find a cure until we beat this disease! WHAT IS YOUR BEST QUALITY OR STRENGTH? My marketing background has taught me to step back and effectively evaluate a consumer’s wants and needs. The ability to see the other side of a situation has helped me deal with almost anything that comes my way. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS? I love to read… almost anything… preferably at the beach!
