About Cecelia

I was born in Detroit Michigan, the eldest of 4 siblings, Married and moved to St. Louis in 1966. I have 2 beautiful daughters,4 granddaughters,3 great granddaughters, and 1 great grandson, I have lived in San Diego for over 40 years. I worked for the Neighborhood House Association's San Diego Food Bank/ Area Agency on Ageing for over 19 years, providing supplemental bags of food to low-income Senior Citizens, my program also encouraged Seniors to keep their indepedance,and also encouraged 75% of the homebound to get out of the house by joining their Senior Center/Churches and other distribution sites, not just once a month but weekly.. This Program had no budget or funding for the food, and I was the only paid employee. My greatest challenge was soliciting for Food and Brown Bags to put the food in and daily Volunteers.. I distributed food throughout 13 cities in San Diego County. i.e. San Diego, Chula Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside, El Cajon, Escondido, National City, San Ysidro,etc. I retired in 2005. Worked for Father Joe's Village: Saint Vincent De Paul's ( Joan Kroc) center for over 5 Years, providing services to over 600 families which included, counseling, education and instilling positive structure to parents and children, helping clients regain their abilities of self worth, positive determination for returning to society ready to achieve their goal of obtaining stable housing for their family. You can find me downtown San Diego, every second and fourth Wednesday evenings distributing clothes to the homeless. At least Twice a year I organize a non perishable food drive for a chosen Food Bank or Church Ministries. My Hobbies,include collecting Elephants ( most are gifts from family and friends) I am sure I have over 2200 ELEPHANTS, and it doesn't matter to me if the trunks are UP or DOWN. I love Zumba, Walking and spending time with my love ones. Especially My Great Grand Children. In 2006, I successfully made my dream come true, by becoming a Real Estate Agent. I am currently with Century 21 Award in La Mesa California.
