She earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park and her Ph.D. from Syracuse University, New York. April is an avid outdoors person and has lived in Lake County for more than 20 years, where she raised her son and enjoyed birding, camping, fishing, gardening, hiking, water sports and wine tasting, all in her "backyard".
