About Alan

Alan Black is a full-time Realtor with Engel & Volkers Real Estate in Arcadia/Pasadena and a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). A native of Southern California, Alan grew up in Arcadia and attended the local schools. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1983 with a degree in Finance and Business Administration. In 1984, Alan went into the video business by opening a store which sold and rented VHS movies and equipment. He ran the business for 4 years before selling it to pursue a career in real estate, where he was awarded Rookie of the Year. After 14 years as a sales agent, he joined the Dilbeck Management team in 2001 as the Branch Manager of the Pasadena office. In October of 2019 after 19 years in management, he stepped down to spend 100% of his time in Real Estate sales. Alan and his wife Ruth were married in 1989 and live in Arcadia. They have 2 children, a daughter Taylor and a son Daniel. Alan enjoys cycling, golf and water sports.
