Matthew enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following his graduation from Cactus Shadows High School in 2003. He served throughout the South Pacific as well as the Naval Aviation Headquarters conducting test and evaluation flights on CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters. Matthew completed 14 months in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his first combat deployment, he was awarded the prestigious “Enlisted Aircrew Member” of the year for the Marine Corps. Matthew most recently served as a recruiter and his station led the state of Arizona in enlisting new Marines. Matthew married his High School Sweetheart, Ashley, in 2008. They currently reside in Gilbert with their 7-year-old daughter Kaylee, another daughter on the way, and have provided a safe and loving home for 8 foster children. In his free time, he likes to golf, cook and suffer through being an Arizona sports fan.
