About LORI
From age 7 through age 10, I lived in Tripoli, Africa, where my father ran a radio station for the United States Air Force. I rode donkeys and camels daily, and my best friends were Arab children my age, and my brothers and sisters. After twenty one years in the military, my family retired to upstate New York, where we owned Cadyville Community Store which consisted of a grocery store, meat market, gas station and gift shop, all in one. My heart has always been in New York City, and Brooklyn (Park Slope), where I spent my vacations, with my father's family. I'm only the second generation born in America. My grandmother and grandfather entered through Ellis Island, from the Ukraine, in 1900. I graduated from high school in upstate New York and immediately moved to Los Angeles, CA., where I worked for Sammy Davis Jr, at the Ambassador Hotel, home of the Coconut Grove. and worked for the federal government. During that time, I vacationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, met my future husband and ended up staying three years. My husband, who was a nightclub entertainer by night and in the U.S. Navy, by day and I moved to his home town, Phoenix, AZ., where I have lived every since. I graduated with a BA from UA and a MPA from Western International University. I worked for the federal government a total of seventeen years, included time at the U.S. Attorney's Office in L.A. during the Manson trails, and later, eight years as an Air Traffic Controller at Phoenix-Litchfield and Tucson towers. While still at Tucson Tower, I acquired my real estate license and then, later, my broker's license and have never looked back. I have been a multi-million dollar producer for over twenty years straight. Although I find this market extremely challenging, and although, with my work experience, and educational background, I could, most likely, return to a great federal job, or teach at a university, I can't see myself doing anything but selling real estate. I absolutely love it. I have two gorgeous and talented sons, David Michael, and Brett William, four grand-children and another on the way. Both sons are married, and their wives, Tiffany and Kim, are beautiful and talented, and I love them, dearly. One of my hobbies is writing. I have a 900 page book I've written, on the federal government, that I hope to have published. It's a true story and quite juicy! I have lots of dreams but a little problem putting them into action. I find time passing by far too quickly. I recently lost my brother and best friend. He was a decorated Marine and Vietnam War hero. I can't talk about my life without mentioning John. I would say, my specialty is diversity. I have sold million dollar mansions and depressed properties at the same time. I know Scottsdale and Sun City and most places in between. I have worked as a REO agent and a relocation specialist. Most of my time these days seems to be on Short Sales. I love teaching new agents if the are self-motivated and am always available to anyone who wishes to draw on my experiences in real estate.
