About Gonzalo
Hello friends and family! Here is a little about me. I was born in Los Angeles, CA and at the age of 6 my parents decided to move to Ixtlan Michoacán, a little country town in Northern Michoacán bordering Southern Jalisco. Although small in size, this little town is magical! Some of the most amazing people occupy the town and are lucky enough to enjoy its beautiful lakes and great views of nature. This is where most of my values were formed and it showed me that helping others was my calling in life, teaching me to work hard while staying humble and loyal to my roots. My family has always been in customer service, in fact, they opened one of the first stores in town that sold meat and other foods, bringing cold cuts for the first time to this little town and the communities around there. At the age of 13, my life once again changed for the better when my parents decided to move back to the United States. I remember like it was yesterday, on a warm day in June our family arrived to San Diego, CA. At the time, I had no clue that this was the place that I would call home for 31 years of my life. I consider San Diego another magical place! So much so, that until this day I still call it home. This city has everything I could ever dream of: beautiful beaches, buzzling city streets and the food?? Incredible! The great weather and best of all I always had Mexico in my backyard going to Baja whenever possible to enjoy the cuisine and shopping of my roots. In San Diego, I have two kids and two grandkids that I love with all of my heart and every opportunity I have I go and visit them (while visiting friends and of course all my favorite restaurants). I moved to Arizona for the first time in 2004 following a dream of becoming a Real Estate agent. I got licensed to serve the states of Arizona and California. I stayed in Arizona for about a year and decided to move back to San Diego (personal reasons) and continue doing Real Estate while pursuing other dreams as well and staying close to my young kids at the time. In February of 2016 I decided to move back to Arizona to better the quality of life for my family. I got licensed as a Loan Officer to serve the states of Arizona and California. I was able to help many families achieve their dream of homeownership. I liked doing loans because every time I helped a family get a loan that had been denied by many others, I felt proud and reminded me of my little town in Mexico where I spent those amazing 6 years where so many people did not think they could achieve their dreams like in the big cities. In January of 2020, I decided that Real Estate was calling me again. I feel that with the 4-year experience as a loan officer I’m able to combine my skills to better help families purchase their own homes. Giving back to my community is also very important for me. Don’t ever hesitate to reach out if you ever need assistance with buying or selling your home and as many of you know, you can call me to ask any questions you have about any situation you are in or just to say hi and catch up. Your friend Gonzalo Contreras.
